Your daughter would probably love one of the three "Clementine" books or the "Dear Dumb Diary" series. My daughter loves these and they both have humor yet still teach a lesson.

Actually, yes. We are a mobile literacy outreach operating in Title 1 schools, shelters, after-school programs and Head Start centers here in Tampa, Fl. We conduct read-alouds in the classroom and then each kid comes out to the Book Bus where they get to pick a book to keep. Our mission is to generate enthusiasm for reading and books while building home libraries for kids /families who otherwise may not have access to books. We are a James Patterson Page Turner Award recipient. We are also sponsored by The Childrens Board, The Tampa Bay Lightning, Publix, Target, First Book, Candlewick Press, Scholastic,Harper Collins, Inkwood Books and more. We are on target to give out 25,000 books this year.
It has been the best thing to happen to me. Visit www.bessthebookbus.org or look up Bess on MySpace to find out more!

Thanks,
Jen

This is a very nice site, one thing that would make it better is if it would include reading lists for young adult readers. It seems like everything focuses on elementary and middle school students but omits high school students. As a high school teacher I hate the implication that once a student reaches high school they stop reading so why suggest good books for them to read.
